Joining Mexico’s Club América, Brazil’s Flamengo and Canada’s AFC Toronto for World Sevens Football’s North American Debut.

World Sevens Football (W7F) is turning up the heat for its North American debut this December, adding two powerhouse clubs to its star-studded roster: Mexico’s Tigres Femenil and Colombia’s Deportivo Cali Femenino. They’ll join Club América (Mexico), Flamengo (Brazil), and AFC Toronto (Canada) for a three-day, high-octane 7v7 showdown at Beyond Bancard Field in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, December 5-7, 2025 all competing for one of the largest prize pools in women’s football: $5 million.
Tigres Femenil is a dominant force in Mexican football, with six Liga MX Femenil championships and an unmatched fanbase that fills stadiums and fuels their dynasty. Known for their intensity, tactical brilliance, and flair, Tigres has set the standard for women’s football in the Americas. Their participation in W7F adds another chapter to their legacy as they bring their trademark fire and championship mentality to the 7v7 stage.
Deportivo Cali Femenino has emerged as a trailblazer in South American football, capturing the Liga Femenina Profesional title in 2021 and consistently producing top-tier talent for Colombia’s national team. With a commitment to youth development and a bold, attacking style, Deportivo Cali has earned its place among the continent’s elite. Their participation in Copa Libertadores Femenina and continued investment in the women’s game reflect a club deeply aligned with the future of football.
A Global Tournament Returns
After an electrifying debut in Estoril, Portugal, that captivated fans around the world, World Sevens Football returns this December to deliver once again the high-energy spectacle and global excitement that define the tournament. Eight elite clubs will battle it out over three action-packed days, chasing a share of the $5 million prize pool. The inaugural tournament featured unforgettable performances and ended in dramatic fashion as Bayern München edged Manchester United in a thrilling final.
“The addition of AFC Toronto continues our mission to celebrate domestic excellence and global opportunity,” said Sarah Cummins, CEO of World Sevens Football. “This marks the first time a team has qualified for W7F based on league performance — a milestone that reflects our commitment to growing women’s football worldwide.”
