W7F Community Champions

Our Community Champions initiative is tailormade to each city we enter, with a goal to identify, fund, and raise awareness of three local nonprofits that are expanding girls’ access to football and driving women’s advancement more broadly.

Prior to our tournaments, our team canvasses the landscape of local nonprofits, and through a rigorous vetting process we eventually select our three Community Champions. Each selected organization receives a $10,000 USD grant and multiple opportunities to leverage our tournament platform and  raise awareness around their work.

Community Clinic by W7F

Our Community Clinic initiative aims to raise awareness around the disproportionate rates at which girls drop out of sports – and encourage girls in our tournaments' local communities to continue playing football.

For our inaugural tournament, Community Clinic was a youth-focused day of football clinics and mentorship, where nearly 100 local U-13 girls received elite coaching and hands-on inspiration from football legends and W7F Player Advisors Council members Laura Georges, Tobin Heath, Kelley O'Hara, Anita Asante, and Caroline Seger. The clinic offered hands-on skills training, mentorship, and a special breakout session focused on confidence and leadership.

Community Clinic in Portugal was implemented in partnership with Fundação Benfica, CAIS, the Cascais Municipality, and the Estoril Praia Academy.
