UNDEFEATED WAVE SURGE INTO FINAL WITH EMPHATIC WIN OVER FLAMENGO
SAN DIEGO TAKES OVER AND SCORES FIVE UNANSWERED GOALS IN FINAL 18 MINUTES

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, USA (DEC. 7, 2025) — San Diego Wave FC stamped its authority on W7F with a commanding 5-1 victory over Flamengo in the second semi final, booking a spot in the highly anticipated final against Tigres. The Wave remain the tournament’s only undefeated team.
Flamengo started the match strong and created multiple chances early, but it was Laysa who broke the deadlock at 8 minutes with a stunning curling shot from outside the box that left goalkeeper DiDi Haričić with no chance. San Diego answered quickly, though, as Gia Corley electrified the crowd with a goal just four minutes later, followed by an own goal from Flamengo’s Djeni early in the second half that flipped the momentum.
The Wave surged ahead with relentless pressure, Adriana Leon finishing a slick counterattack, before Kenza Dali launched an insane goal from distance that had fans on their feet. Daniela Arias then capitalized on a defensive error to extend the lead to 5-1, sealing the win for San Diego.
With this victory, the Wave remain unbeaten and will face Tigres in the W7F Final. Flamengo, meanwhile, will compete for third place against Club América. The tournament now heads into its climax with two matches remaining — the third-place playoff at 3 p.m. EST and the final showdown at 4:30 p.m. Fans are in for an unforgettable finish to this World Sevens Football edition.
