TIGRES BEAT FLAMENGO TO CLAIM FIRST PLACE IN GROUP 1

SANCHEZ CONTINUES SCORING BARRAGE WITH HER SIXTH GOAL OF W7F

TIGRES BEAT FLAMENGO TO CLAIM FIRST PLACE IN GROUP 1

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, USA (DEC. 6, 2025) — María Sánchez continued her remarkable W7F run, scoring once and assisting another as Tigres cruised to a dominant 3–0 victory over Flamengo, securing top spot in Group 1 and a spot in the semi-finals.

The Mexican powerhouse wasted no time stamping their authority. Sánchez opened the scoring with a stunning left-footed strike from outside the box, her sixth goal of the tournament, cementing her status as the all-time top scorer across both W7F editions. Seconds later, she turned provider with a pinpoint assist for Alexia Delgado’s thunderous rocket into the top right corner.

Tigres didn’t let up, with captain Greta Espinoza adding a powerful header from a Belén Cruz corner to seal the deal at 3–0. Flamengo struggled to respond against a disciplined and clinical Tigres side.

Goalkeeper Cecilia Santiago was solid throughout, pulling off a spectacular flying save late in the match to preserve the clean sheet. With this emphatic win, Tigres close Group 1 in first place, while Flamengo advance as runners-up. Meanwhile, AFC Toronto and Kansas City Current bow out of the tournament.

Tigres’ commanding performance and Sánchez’s brilliance send a clear message: they are serious contenders for this W7F title.
