KAYLEE HUNTER MASTERCLASS LIFTS TORONTO TO FIRST WIN

HUNTER FINISHES WITH TWO GOALS AND AN ASSIST; OKORONKWO’S LATE BRACE SEALS VICTORY

KAYLEE HUNTER MASTERCLASS LIFTS TORONTO TO FIRST WIN

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, USA (DEC. 6, 2025) — AFC Toronto finally found their breakthrough moment at W7F Fort Lauderdale, claiming a dramatic 3–2 victory over Kansas City Current thanks to a stunning performance from Kaylee Hunter, who delivered two goals and an assist in a statement match for the Canadians.

Kansas City, fueled by their earlier win over Tigres, struck first. Alex Pfeiffer continued her strong form, firing a precise low driven finish into the bottom corner after a sharp setup from Ally Sentnor.

But Hunter quickly flipped the script. First, an 8th-minute equalizer, then a gorgeous second strike from distance four minutes later, turning the match in Toronto’s favor with pure individual brilliance.

KC responded with flair of their own, stitching together a beautiful one-touch move, short and controlled passing at its finest, finished by Pfeiffer, who bagged her brace to level it 2–2. Momentum swung wildly, and both teams traded blows, including an Okoronkwo goal ruled out after the ball drifted out of play in the buildup.

But in the 29th minute, Hunter produced one more moment of magic, dancing past a defender before placing a perfect cross onto the foot of Okoronkwo for an easy tap-in. Toronto held firm to secure their first win of the tournament and keep their semifinal hopes alive. Both teams now await the evening’s results to see if their tournament journeys continue.
