Match 7 Recap — PSG Oust Roma in Sudden Death
PSG head to semis with 2-1 victory and tournament’s first golden goal

PSG SEAL SEMI-FINAL SPOT AFTER EXTRA-TIME THRILLER
ESTORIL, PORTUGAL (22 May, 2025) — Paris Saint-Germain join Bayern and Manchester City as they punched their ticket to the semi-finals of the World Sevens Tournament with a dramatic 2–1 extra-time win over AS Roma, in a tightly contested clash that needed golden goal overtime to find a winner. Roma struck first through Alice Corelli, who coolly converted a cross midway through the first half. PSG found their rhythm after the break, equalizing thanks to a brilliant solo effort by Jennifer Echegimi, who got past the Roma team with slick footwork. The match stayed finely balanced into extra time, where goalkeeper Alyssa Fernandes pulled off a pair of stunning saves to keep Roma at bay. With the game on a knife’s edge, it was Grace Geyoro’s pinpoint low cross that found Romee Leuchter for the decisive tap-in, sending PSG through to the final four, while Roma bow out after two narrow defeats.
