Chelsea Women Join World Sevens Football London Edition

The full tournament field is now set for World Sevens Football London Edition, with Chelsea Women confirmed as the eighth and final club. They join Aston Villa, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Everton, London City and Leicester City in a star-studded set vying for a high-stakes prize pool.

The Blues will be part of three days of high-octane football at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium from Thursday, 28 May, to Saturday, 30 May. W7F London Edition will bring together top clubs, elite players and passionate supporters in the way that only World Sevens Football can.

Chelsea Head Coach Sonia Bompastor said, "It's a fantastic occasion for our supporters to see the team in action one final time before the players head off for a well-earned summer break following a demanding season. We are looking forward to being part of what promises to be a brilliant event for our players and fans alike."

The clubs will compete in a round-robin group stage on Thursday, 28 May, and Friday, 29 May, with the top two clubs from each group advancing to the Semi Final Matches on Saturday, 30 May. A W7F Champion will be crowned that same day.

Here are the groups:

  • Group 1: Everton, Leicester City, London City, Chelsea
  • Group 2: Aston Villa, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United

Group play opens at 1500 BST (10:00am EDT) on both Thursday and Friday, while the Semi Final Matches begin at 1100 BST (6:00am EDT) on Saturday.

World Sevens Football London Edition will build on the success of tournaments in Estoril, Portugal, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in bringing intensity and joy to the pitch in a format built for the modern game. And with the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Final set for 31 May, supporters can look forward to what’s shaping up to be a blockbuster weekend for women’s football in London.

Tickets for W7F London Edition start at £17 with new allotments having just been released. Every seat offered feels like the best seat in the house, whether you are in the grandstand, on the supporter decks, in the hospitality lounges or in the exclusive VIP cabanas. Options include single-day tickets, three-day passes and family packages.

Every match will be streamed live in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports.
