World Sevens Football Unveils First Two Elite Women’s Teams Representing Brazil and Mexico for Second Tournament This December

NEW YORK (October 9, 2025): World Sevens Football (W7F) announced today the first two professional women’s football clubs to compete in its second global tournament: Mexico’s Club América and Brazil’s Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. Both teams will be among eight elite squads confirmed for this electrifying event, which will take place December 5-7, 2025, at Beyond Bancard Field in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, home of Gainbridge USL’s Fort Lauderdale United FC.

Eight top-tier teams will compete for a landmark $5 million prize pool, one of the largest in women’s football. The inaugural W7F event showcased icons such as Pernille Harder, Kerolin Nicoli, Ella Toone, and Lily Yohannes, culminating in a Bayern München win over Man United in a gripping final, taking home both the crown and the largest share of the prize money.
