After months of anticipation, it’s finally here. In just a few hours some of the top footballers on the globe will face off in an electrifying 7v7 tournament in beautiful Estoril, Portugal. We chose this location for its passion for football, beautiful beaches, and first-rate hospitality. The player experience is our top priority, and we want every athlete who competes in W7F to have a fantastic time on and off the pitch.
In addition to hosting eight world-class teams, we are honored and proud to include the local community in this groundbreaking event. Last night we hosted a welcome party to celebrate all the players, and we also recognized three of our amazing nonprofit partners for their tireless work to open doors for girls and young women to play. Tomorrow, we’ll work with nearly 100 U-13 girls, providing them with elite coaching and hands-on inspiration from our superstar player advisors: Tobin Heath, Anita Asante, Laura Georges, Kelley O’Hara and Caroline Seger.
Today’s action begins when Manchester City and FC Rosengard take the field at 5pm local time, followed by Roma and Manchester United at 6pm, Ajax and Bayern München at 7pm, and PSG and Benfica at 8pm. Over the next three days, these elite teams will play a total of 16 matches, each comprising two 15-minute halves—and no ties. If regulation time ends with the score even, there will be five minutes of sudden death with five total players on the field for each team. If the score is still tied after that, the game moves to penalties.
All matches will be available to watch LIVE, for FREE on DAZN.
The fast-paced, small-field format of the tournament will treat fans around the world to an up-close display of jaw-dropping individual skill. You don’t want to miss it.
