ESTORIL, PORTUGAL (21 May, 2025) — Manchester City got their World Sevens Football campaign off to a flying start with a commanding 4–0 win over FC Rosengård in the tournament’s opening match in Estoril. City came out firing and took the lead just two minutes in, as Aoba Fujino rifled a strike from distance into the bottom corner. The pressure didn’t let up, and moments later Fujino turned provider, setting up Kerolin to double the lead with a cool finish after some slick build-up play. Rosengård’s keeper, Eartha Cuming, pulled off several fine saves to keep the scoreline respectable, but City were in full control.
Kerolin added her second with a brilliant solo run before the break, and Aemu Oyama capped off the performance with a well-worked fourth in the second half. A dominant start from the English side, who look every bit like title contenders on opening day.
